RYDER CUP WEEKEND – TABLE CREEK 22 / LAKE RIDGE 18
This year’s Ryder Cup against Table Creek was another nail bitter. Lake Ridge trailed by 1 point after Saturday mornings 2-Man Scramble 4.5 to 3.5. The afternoon 2-Man Best Ball was a tie at 4 to 4 giving Table Creek the lead after day one of 8.5 to Lake Ridge’s 7.5. The Lake Ridge boys kept it close with another 4 to 4 tie during the Sunday morning 2-Man Alternate Shot. However, Table Creek stepped up their game and won the individual matches 9.5 to 6.5 to give them the win 22 to 18. Table Creek now leads the series 6 to 5 having now won 5 in a row. Win lose or draw, our boys played great and fought a good fight. This is always a great competition and I look forward to doing it again next year and hopefully coming out on top.
THURSDAY LADIES LEAGUE FUN NIGHT
We have scheduled a FUN NIGHT for this Thursday’s Ladies League due to Conestoga parents orientation night. Therefore this Thursdays scheduled match has been moved to Aug 30. The league had been scheduled to finish Aug 23 with the fun night scheduled for Aug 30. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but apparently a lot of ladies would not have been able to play.
COUPLES LEAGUE 1 WINNERS
Congratulations to Ken and Lauran Nutzman for winning this year’s Couples League 1. Runner up was Mandy Bair and Ralph Storey.

Wednesday Men’s League scheduled to finish Oct 3. Includes 2 make-up matches.

Couples League 1 finished Friday Aug 10.
Couples League 2 finishes Friday Aug 24. Includes one make-up match.
GOLF ETIQUETTE
Golf is a “gentleman’s game”. Please adhere to all the rules of etiquette. Please allow faster players to play through. Don’t jump ahead of other golfers. No groups larger than 4 players are allowed. However from time-to-time groups of 5 may be allowed but they first must consult with the pro shop. Do not hit into groups in front of you. Please repair all ball marks and divots. When using Lake Ridge golf carts, you are responsible for any damages to the carts, so please drive carefully. Also if your ball hits a house, you are responsible for any damages. Please inform the homeowner if this happens. Please do not drive on any homeowners properties and do not hit your golf ball from their property. Thanks.
UNLIMITED GOLF SPECIAL
The UNLIMITED GOLF special has returned. The $24.50 package includes all your golf, cart rental, a cold sandwich and chips and is available Mon – Fri. Our $29.50 package includes golf, cart rental, and a hot lunch from Fairways Restaurant and is only available on Fridays. Please note this golf does not include weekends or holidays and all golfers must stop playing at 4:00. This allow us time to get setup and ready for the evening leagues.
SENIOR GOLF SPECIAL
Are you 60 and over and love to golf? Well Lake Ridge Golf Course has a deal for you. Play all the golf you want for only $20, including cart rental. That’s right $20. Now that’s a deal. Please note this golf does not include weekends or holidays and all golfers must stop playing at 4:00. This allow us time to get setup and ready for the evening leagues.
LAKE WACONDA GOLF OUTING SATURDAY AUG 18 at 10:00 am
Lake Waconda will be having a 9-hole 4 person scramble on Saturday Aug 18 at 10:00 am. The course will be closed from 9:00 to 12:30. We have limited early morning tee times. Please call the Pro Shop to book your tee time in advance. Morning golfers will need to be off the course by 9:45.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP – CALCUTTA WEEKEND OF AUG 25/26
The sign-up sheet for this year’s Club Championship is located in the pro shop. Please sign-up early to better assist us in planning this event on Aug 25 / Aug 26. Tee times will be made available Friday Aug 25. The Calcutta will start at 6:00 on Saturday evening.
KYLE SORENSEN MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING SEP 8/9
The golf course will be closed the weekend of Sep 8 / 9 for the 16th annual Kyle Sorensen memorial Golf Tournament. Format is a 4-person scramble with two 18 hole scrambles scheduled for Saturday and two on Sunday. If you would like to play in this great tournament, please sign-up in the pro shop.
GLOW BALL 2-PERSON SCRAMBLE FRIDAY SEP 14 at DUSK
The final Glow Ball Tournament of the 2018 golf season has been scheduled for Friday Sep 14. Cost is $50 for a members team and $80 for a guest team. A buffet will be provided before we tee off along with raffle prizes. And let’s not forget the fireworks. Tee off will be at dusk which should be around 8:00 to 8:15. Glow ball fills up fast so please sign-up in the pro shop to ensure your spot.
RIP GOLF TOURNAMENT SUNDAY OCT 17 STARTING AT 11:00
The R.I.P. Tournament has been scheduled for Sunday Oct 7. Tee times start at 11:00. This is a handicap based tournament so everyone has a chance at winning. If you do not have a handicap, please let us know in advance so we can establish a handicap for you. Cost is $25 for members and $50 for guest. Price includes golf, prizes and food. The sign-up sheet is located in the pro shop. Please sign up in advance to better assist us in planning this event.

Not only can you book your tee time online, but you can view all the upcoming events for the season in the events Club Calendar. So please take a few minutes to check it out and add to your favorites list. Please note that if you are unable to make your tee time or are running late, please let us know. During busy periods, especially on weekends and holidays, if you miss your tee time, we will give that slot to someone else and you may not be able to play since we have a limited amount of golf carts.
