Rose King beat Martha Jenkins 3-2 and Nicolette Walk beat Carla Dunton 4-3 on Sunday July 30 during the Ladies Match play tournament. Rose now plays Nicolette in the final match on Sunday Aug 6. Good luck to both Rose and Nicolette. Thanks to all who played in this year’s competition and I look forward to next year’s Ladies Match Play Championship.

The Ladies Invitational is this Saturday Aug 5 at 9:00. We are still looking for volunteers to help out. If you would like to help please contact Troy Ackerman or Jon Eagen. We are also looking for donations for raffle prizes. Please contact Jean Ackerman or Kelli Eagen if you would like to donate any items for the raffle prizes. Your help is greatly appreciated. This is always a great tournament and a fun filled day.

LEAGUE UPDATES

The Tuesday Ladies League has been extended to Aug 29. The ladies voted last Tuesday to extend the league another 3 weeks as they have done every year. It was set to finish Aug 8. Please mark your calendars to reflect the change. Also, please note that the Thursday Ladies League will finish Aug 31. It was set to finish Aug 24, however we have 1 make-up match to play.

Couples League 2 has two more matches to play to complete their season. They will play back-to-back matches on Friday Aug 4 and Aug 11. Since Couples League 1 has one make-up match, I have moved the Couples Fun Night to Friday Aug 25. Couples League will now finish their season on Friday Aug 18.

The Monday morning Senior League continues every Monday at 9:00. Any Senior wanting to play  please meet at the club house every Monday morning,  weather permitting.

Want to give a huge shout out to Russell Bastien, our Superintendent and his staff for doing a great job on the course. I have never seen our greens look this good. Their hard work and dedication is paying off and if you see them on the course, please give them a huge thanks. This summer has been very challenging with issues with the water pump and the heat and humidity. The course looks great…

JUNIOR TOURNAMENT

Thanks to everyone who came out for this year’s Junior Tournament on Tuesday Jul 18. It was a hot and humid day for the juniors to test their skills in the 9-hole tournament. It all started 6 weeks ago with around 25 to 30 kids showing up each Tuesday for the junior clinic and 20 kids competing in the Junior Tournament. Again thanks to all the kids and their parents. I look forward to seeing you kids on the course over the summer and really look forward to doing this again next year and watching you all get better and better. And finally want to give a special shout out to Kelli Eagen and Brad McClatchey for helping with the clinic. The winners of Junior Tournament are listed below. Awards will be presented to the Juniors at this year’s Awards Banquet.

MEN’S MATCH PLAY

Anton Yost beat Tyson Widler 2 to 1 on Sunday July 23 to become this year’s John Hopp Men’s Match Play Champion. It was an exciting match to watch as Anton won it on the 17th hole. Congrats to Anton for winning and also to Tyson for being this year’s runner-up. Thanks to all who played in this year’s competition. This event keeps getting bigger each year and I look forward to next years Match Play Championship.

LADIES MATCH PLAY

The Ladies Match Play continues this Sunday Jul 30. We are down to 4 players.  Carla Dunton vs Nicolette Walk and Martha Jenkins vs Rose King. Carla Dunton won 1 up against Jean Ackerman on the 2nd playoff hole and Martha Jenkins won 2-1 against Bekki Koenig on Sunday. Rose King won 2-1 against Liz Rodis on Saturday and Nicolette Walk won 3-1 against Kathleen Wright last Friday.

We will be having a Conceal and Carry gun class on Sunday July 30. Registration begins at 8:00 am  and the class starts at 8:30 am and is schedules to run until 4:30. The cost of the course is $100  per person. Payment can be made via PayPal using  https://www.paypal.me/thetribe?locale.x=en_US&country.x=US. Please use the friends and friends  function or add 3.5% for the fees. Please include the name of who is attending the class in the notes section.  You can bring the range fee with you the day of the class or you can include it in the PayPal payment. If you have an issue with PayPal or don’t have an account  account you can mail payment to the address below. To reserve your seat, please make sure payment  is made prior to  July 23. There is a class enrollment minimum, so if there isn’t enough people paid by July 23, the class is subject to be cancelled. If the class is cancelled for any reason, a full refund will be given, less any fees from PayPal. You will need to bring a firearm of any caliber with a holster that can  be concealed. We recommend a belt holster on the outside of the pants and a jacket or  button down shirt to  conceal the gun. Most of the qualification is drawing from concealment, but  there are no time limits.  Please  do not bring any ammunition into the classroom portion; you may, however, bring an unloaded  and cased weapon  if you would like. Training material and handouts will  be provided for the classroom portion. Also, you will need range  protective gear as well. Eye protection and ear protection is required. 100 rounds of manufactured practice ammunition  should suffice. Would like to thank the Plattsmouth Lion’s Club for having their annual fund raiser  this past Saturday. Our very own Mike Hall took over this tournament from Larry Hefling 2 years ago when they closed the Murrey Chapter of the Lion’s Club. The money raised supports a number of causes and everyone’s continued support is greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank Jeff Henry Motors and Zane Reed for sponsoring the hole-in-one hole and giving everyone a chance at winning a brand new truck.  Look forward to hosting this tournament again next year.

Lake Ridge Weekly Newsletter July 3, 2017

We would like to wish everyone a safe and fun filled Independence Day on Tuesday. Tee times are filling up fast, so please book in advance to ensure your spot. Please note the kitchen will be open from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Also there is no Junior Clinic or Tuesday Ladies League.

The Junior Clinic finishes next Tuesday July 11,  at 11:00 am. The clinic is free and is open to all juniors. The clinic will cover golf etiquette, rules, chipping, putting and driving. And mark your calendars for Tuesday Jul 18 when  you can put your skills to work and  play in the Junior Tournament.

The Plattsmouth Lions Club 18 hole 4-person scramble has been rescheduled for Saturday Jul 15. Shot gun start at 8:30. Please sign up in the pro shop or call for more details. This is always a great event so please get a team together and help support the Plattsmouth Lions Club.

The Monday morning Senior League continues every Monday at 9:00. Any Senior wanting to play please meet at the club house every Monday morning,  weather permitting.

Booking a tee time has never been easier. Just go to our new and improved website at https://golflakeridge.com. Not only can you book your tee time online, but you can view all the upcoming events for the season in the events Club Calendar. You can view our menu, order gift certificate’s from our online shop and keep up-to-date with the latest golfing news with my online news blog. Come take advantage of our UNLIMITED GOLF SPECIAL. The $24.50 golf package includes all your golf, cart rental and a cold sandwich with chips and is available Monday – Friday. However due to changes with our lunch schedule the $29.50 package that includes golf, cart rental  and a hot  lunch  from Fairways  Restaurant will only be available on Fridays. Please note this golf special does not include weekends or holidays and all golfers must stop playing at 4:00.  This allow us time to get setup and ready for the evening leagues.

We will be having a Conceal and Carry gun class on Sunday July 30. Registration begins at 8:00 am  and the class starts at 8:30 am and is schedules to run until 4:30. The cost of the course is $100 per person. Payment can be made via PayPal using  https://www.paypal.me/thetribe?locale.x=en_US&country.x=US. Please use the friends and friends function or add 3.5% for the fees. Please include the name of who is attending the class in the notes section.  You can bring the range fee with you the day of the class or you can include it in the PayPal payment. If you have an issue with PayPal or don’t have an account account you can mail payment to the address below. To reserve your seat, please make sure payment is made prior to  July 23. There is a class enrollment minimum, so if there isn’t enough people paid by July 23, the class is subject to be cancelled. If the class is cancelled for any reason, a full refund will be given, less any fees from PayPal. You will need to bring a firearm of any caliber with a holster that can be concealed. We recommend a belt holster on the outside of the pants and a jacket or button down shirt to conceal the gun.
