Would like to thank the Conestoga Booster Club for having their annual golf outing on Sunday. Although it was hot day and windy day, it did not stop the 64 golfers from having a great time. Congrats to the winning team of Larry Welch, Jay Priefert, Brad McClatchey and myself for shooting a smooth 54. Would also like to thank Jeff Henry Motors for sponsoring the hole-in-one hole and giving everyone a chance at winning a brand new pickup truck. And thanks to all who came out to play and support the Booster Club. Look forward to hosting this tournament again next year.

I would like to take this time to thank our new superintendent, Russ Bastien ,and his crew, Steve Arnold , Scott Houston and Adam Olson for all the hard work they are putting in on the golf course. Russ has only been here a few weeks but we are already seeing many improvements to the course. But they can’t do it all by themselves. It takes all of us to keep the golf course looking good. Please adhere to all the cart path rules. Please stay on the cart path around the tee boxes and greens. Please keep carts at least 30 feet away from the greens and please repair all divots and ball marks.
There is no Couples League this Friday due to the Memorial Day weekend. However, we have scheduled a Couples Fun Night starting at 6:00. Cost is $25.00 per members team and $50.00 per guest team. Price includes dinner and a chance at winning flag prizes. Please sign-up in the pro shop to ensure your spot.

The Monday morning Senior League continues every Monday at 9:00. Any Senior wanting to play please meet at the club house every Monday morning, weather permitting.
In an effort to better serve our league players, we highly encourage everyone to pre-order their dinner when they check-in at the Pro Shop. If you pre-order you get a 10% discount on your food order. As you can imagine, 40 people coming in all at once can be challenging especially when we already have customers in the bar and restaurant. Pre-ordering better prepares us in providing you with great service and great food.
This year’s Junior Clinic starts Tuesday Jun 6, at 11:00 am and will run every Tuesday until Jul 11. The clinic is free and is open to all juniors. The clinic will cover golf etiquette, rules, chipping, putting and driving. Any juniors wanting to participate, please sign-up in advance. And mark your calendars for Tuesday Jul 18 when you can put your skills to work and play in the Junior Tournament.

We are pleased to announce that we have hired Russell Bastian as our new course Superintendent. Russ and his wife Jan come to us all the way from Wisconsin. We are very excited to have Russ join our team at Lake Ridge and look forward to seeing him on the course and continue to improve and enhance the golf course. If you see Russ out on the course please introduce yourself and welcome him to Lake Ridge.
The Spring cleanup day was cancelled due to the cold and wet conditions on Sunday. We will try and reschedule sometime in the next few weeks after consultation with Russ.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SPRING CLEAN UP
We are looking for volunteers to assist us in doing some spring clean-up on the course on Sunday Apr 30 at 9:00. Pizza and beer will be provided to all volunteers later in the clubhouse. The grounds crew is working very hard to get the course back in shape for the upcoming season and any help is very much appreciated.

All right poker fans, as the golf season begins, Texas HoldEm must come to an end. Tuesday will be the last Texas HoldEm night of the season. Game starts promptly at 7:30. Poker players enjoy Happy Hour rates when playing and also have a chance at winning prizes. I would like to thank all the players that play each and every Tuesday night.
