RYDER CUP AGAINST TABLE CREEK

This year’s Ryder Cup against Table Creek was another nail bitter. Lake Ridge lost Saturday mornings 2-man scramble 5-3. Table Creek then dominated the afternoon best ball winning 7-1  and taking 12–4 lead  after day one at Table Creek. The Lake Ridge boys fought back hard on Sunday winning the morning alternate shot 4.5 to 3.5 to cut into Table Creeks lead and then dominated the afternoon individuals matches11–5 only to fall short of taking back the plaque. Table Creek won 21.5 to 18.5. The series is now tied at 5-5 with Table Creek having now won 4 in a row. Win lose or draw, our boys played great and fought a good fight. This is a great competition and I look forward to doing it again next year and hopefully coming out on top. I also want to give another shout out to our grounds crew. The course looked great and the greens are the in the best shape I have ever seen them in. The boys from Table Creek all commented on how good our greens are. Please thank the grounds crew when you see them.

The sign-up sheet for this year’s Club Championship is located in the pro shop. Please sign-up early to better assist us in planning this event on Aug 26 / Aug 27. Tee times will be made available Friday Aug 25. The Calcutta will start at 6:00 on Saturday evening.

LEAGUE UPDATES

Monday Men’s League finishes Sep 18. Includes one make-up match. Tuesday Ladies League has been extended to Aug 29. Wednesday Men’s League finishes Sep 20. Thursday Ladies League finishes Aug 31.  Couples League 2 finished Aug 11.  Couples League 1 has one make-up match and finishes on Aug 18. The Couples Fun Night to Friday has been rescheduled to Aug 25.

The Monday morning Senior League continues every Monday at 9:00. Any Senior wanting to play  please meet at the club house every Monday morning,  weather permitting.

UPCOMING EVENTS

We will be having another Conceal and Carry gun class on Sunday Sep 24. Registration begins at 8:00 am  and the class starts at 8:30 am and is schedules to run until 4:30. The cost of the course is $100  per person. Payment can be made via PayPal using  https://www.paypal.me/thetribe?locale.x=en_US&country.x=US. Please use the friends and friends  function or add 3.5% for the fees. Please include the name of who is attending the class in the notes section.  You can bring the range fee with you the day of the class or you can include it in the PayPal payment. If you have an issue with PayPal or don’t have an account  you can mail payment to the address below. To reserve your seat, please make sure payment  is made prior to  Sep 17. There is a class enrollment minimum, so if there isn’t enough people paid by Sep 17, the class is subject to be cancelled. If the class is cancelled for any reason, a full refund will be given, less any fees from PayPal. You will need to bring a firearm of any caliber with a holster that can  be concealed. We recommend a belt holster on the outside of the pants and a jacket or  button down shirt to  conceal the gun. Most of the qualification is drawing from concealment, but  there are no time limits.  Please  do not bring any ammunition into the classroom portion; you may, however, bring an unloaded  and cased weapon  if you would like. Training material and handouts will  be provided for the classroom portion. Also, you will need range  protective gear as well. Eye protection and ear protection is required. 100 rounds of manufactured practice ammunition  should suffice. Rose King beat Martha Jenkins 3-2 and Nicolette Walk beat Carla Dunton 4-3 on Sunday July 30 during the Ladies Match play tournament. Rose now plays Nicolette in the final match on Sunday Aug 6. Good luck to both Rose and Nicolette. Thanks to all who played in this year’s competition and I look forward to next year’s Ladies Match Play Championship.

The Ladies Invitational is this Saturday Aug 5 at 9:00. We are still looking for volunteers to help out. If you would like to help please contact Troy Ackerman or Jon Eagen. We are also looking for donations for raffle prizes. Please contact Jean Ackerman or Kelli Eagen if you would like to donate any items for the raffle prizes. Your help is greatly appreciated. LEAGUE UPDATES

The Tuesday Ladies League has been extended to Aug 29. The ladies voted last Tuesday to extend the league another 3 weeks as they have done every year. It was set to finish Aug 8. Please mark your calendars to reflect the change. Also, please note that the Thursday Ladies League will finish Aug 31. It was set to finish Aug 24, however we have 1 make-up match to play.

Couples League 2 has two more matches to play to complete their season. They will play back-to-back matches on Friday Aug 4 and Aug 11. Since Couples League 1 has one make-up match, I have moved the Couples Fun Night to Friday Aug 25. Couples League will now finish their season on Friday Aug 18.

Would like to thank the Plattsmouth Lion’s Club for having their annual fund raiser  this past Saturday. Our very own Mike Hall took over this tournament from Larry Hefling 2 years ago when they closed the Murrey Chapter of the Lion’s Club. The money raised supports a number of causes and everyone’s continued support is greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank Jeff Henry Motors and Zane Reed for sponsoring the hole-in-one hole and giving everyone a chance at winning a brand new truck.  Look forward to hosting this tournament again next year.

Anton Yost beat Todd Berry on the first playoff hole and Tyson Widler beat Larry Welch1 up on Sunday July 16 during the John Hopp Men’s Match play tournament. Tyson now plays Anton in the final match on Sunday July 23. Good luck to both Tyson and Anton. Thanks to all who played in this year’s competition. This event keeps getting bigger each year and I look forward to next years Match Play Championship.

We would like to wish everyone a safe and fun filled Independence Day on Tuesday. Tee times are filling up fast, so please book in advance to ensure your spot. Please note the kitchen will be open from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Also there is no Junior Clinic or Tuesday Ladies League.

The Junior Clinic finishes next Tuesday July 11,  at 11:00 am. The clinic is free and is open to all juniors. The clinic will cover golf etiquette, rules, chipping, putting and driving. And mark your calendars for Tuesday Jul 18 when  you can put your skills to work and  play in the Junior Tournament.

Just do a search for AMI Jukebox under your APPS store and download the app. Once you have downloaded the app, select Caddy’s Lounge as your location.  It’s quick and easy to setup.

We have Karaoke every Friday and Saturday starting at 9:00. However, if you ever want to practice your skills, once the kitchen closes, we can fire up the Karaoke and let the singing begin.

Congratulations to Brett Hahn for getting his first ever Hole-in-One on hole #6 using his Gap Wedge on Saturday Jun 24. The 135 yard shot was witnessed by Kori Hahn and Josh and Sarah Kucera. It only took 30 years for the GolfTEC instructor to finally hit the perfect shot. Great shot Brett “ACE” Hahn. Did I mention he works for GolfTEC? The Junior Clinic continues this Tuesday Jun 27,  at 11:00 am and runs every Tuesday until Jul 11. The clinic is free and is open to all juniors. The clinic will cover golf etiquette, rules, chipping, putting and driving. And mark your calendars for Tuesday Jul 18 when  you can put your skills to work and  play in the Junior Tournament.

The Plattsmouth Lions Club 18 hole 4-person scramble has been rescheduled for Saturday Jul 15. Shot gun start at 8:30. Please sign up in the pro shop or call for more details. This is always a great event so please get a team together and help support the Plattsmouth Lions Club.

The Monday morning Senior League continues every Monday at 9:00. Any Senior wanting to play please meet at the club house every Monday morning,  weather permitting.

Come take advantage of our UNLIMITED GOLF SPECIAL. The $24.50 golf package includes all your golf, cart rental and a cold sandwich with chips and is available Monday – Friday. However due to changes with our lunch schedule the $29.50 package that includes golf, cart rental  and a hot  lunch  from Fairways  Restaurant will only be available on Fridays.  Please note this golf special does not include weekends or holidays and all golfers must stop playing at 4:00.  This allow us time to get setup and ready for the evening leagues.

We will be hosting a “SIP AND SHOP” party on Thursday Jun 29 from 7:00 – 10:00 in Fairways Restaurant. LipSense, Skyz Boutique Clothing and Isabel Chloe Jewelry will be the featured vendors. So why not stop by, have a few drinks and pick up a few great gifts for yourself or that special someone in your life.

All you Karaoke Kings and Queens, the qualifying round for this year’s annual Karaoke Fall Festival Contest will be held in Caddies Lounge this Saturday July 1 starting at 9:00. So mark your calendars. This is a fun competition and is open to the public. More details to follow but those wanting to complete need to sign-up  in advance.

We will be having a Conceal and Carry gun class on Sunday July 30. Registration begins at 8:00 am  and the class starts at 8:30 am and is schedules to run until 4:30. Cost is $100.00. You will need to bring a firearm of any caliber with a holster that can be concealed. We recommend a belt holster on the outside of the pants and a jacket or button down shirt to conceal the gun.   Most of the qualification is drawing from concealment, but there are no time limits.  Please do not bring any ammunition into the classroom portion; you may, however, bring an unloaded and cased weapon  if you would like.  Training material and handouts will be provided for the classroom portion.  Also, you will need range  protective gear as well.  Eye protection and ear protection is required.   100 rounds of manufactured practice ammunition should suffice. Officer Brian Hayes will be the instructor. Spots are limited so please contact the pro shop if you would like to sign-up.
